What is Sen Kamala D Harris stance on the current situation in the Israel Palestine conflict How might her position change if she becomes Vice President or President of the United States ?
Prior to President Joe Biden's resignation, which was prompted by immense pressure, he transferred his responsibilities to Vice President Kamala Harris. The US presidential race appeared exceedingly bleak, featuring a self-proclaimed Zionist involved in genocide, competing against a deceitful individual with a criminal record and opportunistic tendencies, who ran on a fascist ticket.
This was a deplorable situation, even for the most passionate American leftists. They finally experienced a sense of relief when Harris assumed control and injected passion into an otherwise gloomy election.
Within a short period of time, a substantial amount of money was directed towards her campaign for presidency, and the idea of a woman with Indian and Caribbean heritage occupying the Oval Office revitalized the stagnant state of the country's politics.
From a domestic perspective, leftist Americans consider Harris to be far superior than her adversary, former President Donald Trump. His offerings consist solely of a historical track record characterized by trickery, dishonesty, blatant racism, and a bigoted belief in white supremacy.
The next stage was Israeli prime minister and notorious war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to the US Congress, which was notoriously foul. The event was missed by a large number of members of Congress. No amount of money, not even Aipac's millions, can save this nasty man from widespread contempt.
Credit must be given to Harris for her refusal to preside over Netanyahu's orchestrated show, since she found a pretext to depart from Washington. However, she was unable to entirely evade encountering the Israeli warmonger. Following their meeting, she commended the unwavering and ‘’ironclad’’support of the United States for Israel, despite its involvement in the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Then came the time when Harris adopted a serious and grave demeanor, professing compassion for Palestinians and making a firm commitment to not remain silent about there widespread and indiscriminate slaughter. In this bleak environment, such a declaration could be interpreted as an indication of optimism. However, it is not.
This is not solely due to Harris's astute understanding of the progressive faction within the Democratic Party and her acknowledgment of the need to appeal to their interests. It is also attributable to something much more malevolent.
Harris voiced concern regarding the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. After 11 months of Israel's continuous and systematic extermination of Palestinians, there is not much to add. However, the ramifications of her statement are considerably more dire.
The complete statement is as follows:
“I also expressed with the prime minister my serious concern about the scale of human suffering in Gaza, including the death of far too many innocent civilians. And I made clear my serious concern about the dire humanitarian situation there, with over 2 million people facing high levels of food insecurity and half a million people facing catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity."
“What has happened in Gaza over the past nine months is devastating - the images of dead children and desperate, hungry people fleeing for safety, sometimes displaced for the second, third or fourth time. We cannot look away in the face of these tragedies. We cannot allow ourselves to become numb to the suffering. And I will not be silent.”
Concisely, she expresses "serious concern" regarding the human toll of the Palestinian genocide that occurred under her supervision. This worry does not imply that Harris could care less to the sacrifices made by Palestinians in their fight against their oppressive invaders and their efforts to regain their homeland. Instead, she simplifies the Palestinian national liberation movement to a humanitarian catastrophe that should be dealt with by humanitarian organizations.
Harris shares the same stance on Israel as Biden, Trump, and Obama: “unwavering commitment” and “ironclad support” to Israel.
What does that signify? Continuous military assistance and unwavering diplomatic backing for the genocidal ideology of Zionism are currently being implemented in Gaza and other parts of Palestine. Harris stubbornly denies any validity to the Palestinian fight against the violent seizure of their homeland. Harris reiterates the futile belief in the two-state delusion.
There is absolutely no discernible distinction between Harris and her predecessors. Her feeble displays of empathy towards the plight of Palestinians are perhaps even worse than remaining silent.
Over the course of 11 months, the Biden administration has circumvented Congress in order to supply Israel with lethal weaponry for the purpose of causing harm to Palestinians. Was Harris not involved in those decisions? How can she actively support and promote genocide in Palestine and then engage in political campaigning, claiming to have "serious concern" for the suffering she directly contributed to?
I do not doubt her genuineness; I simply observe the ominous shift towards "humanitarian" issues as a strategy to remove political aspects from a movement for national freedom.
After encountering the principal perpetrator of war crimes, Harris expresses her profound horror in response to these heinous acts. What is the significance or relevance of this? How does that reflect into any form of reassessment of her country's ‘’ironclad support’’ to genocidal Zionism?
“I have had an unwavering commitment to the existence of the state of Israel.”
Can you imagine her making such a statement about any other country in the world, such as India, France, Morocco, Germany, Argentina, Iran, Mexico, Turkey, Egypt, or Finland?
Why do all these US leaders repeatedly emphasize their dedication to the "existence" of Israel?
Simply because they are aware that it was constructed on the usurped land of another native population. Therefore, there is a clear unease in the Western world that contradicts all these declarations of backing for the settler colony.
Meanwhile, The New York Times is taking steps to ensure that Harris behaves and does not excessively express sympathy for the suffering of Palestinians. Undoubtedly, the entire system of liberal imperialism is actively engaged in converting the Palestinian issue into a humanitarian crisis. However, it is crucial that we should not succumb to this manipulation. The notion of a "two-state solution" is a deceptive illusion, conceived by Zionists as a false hope, while they persistently steal Palestine piece by piece.
The American political landscape is currently characterized by a dichotomy between aggressive imperialism overseas and extremist fascism at home, juxtaposed with a more moderate approach of liberal imperialism abroad and rather semi-sane domestic policies at home. A large number of Americans are prepared to vote for Harris in order to prevent her adversary, the racially prejudiced fraud Trump, from regaining the presidency.
However, when it comes to the settler colonythat is currently engaged in warfare on numerous fronts, Harris would not make any changes whatsoever—absolutely none, null. She would consistently provide extensive military support to Israel, enabling its atrocities. At the same time, the rest of the world must be alert and concentrated on the valiant efforts and significant sacrifices made by the Palestinian people to free their ancestral land from the river to the sea.
